Deputy Chair of Hednesford Town Council, Cllr Ron Turville, together with Chair of the Regeneration and Community Committee, Cllr Ann Turville, were invited by the pupils at Pye Green Academy School to visit them in their brand new Forest School outdoor classroom and thanked Hednesford Town Council for the £1,000 CIL grant which enabled the school to provide this valuable resource
The outdoor classroom enables children to learn through exploring the outdoors as well as providing a quiet space for one to one support. Pastoral Lead at Pye Green Academy Tracy Snell said ”
“The outdoor classroom will benefit the whole school as it will be used for outside science classes, a potting area, shelter from the elements and a drying area. It will also be used for storage of wellington boots and wet gear. We are starting a new program with the children, called One Goal for mental health and the outdoor classroom will also be used for children to use if they are feeling emotionally challenged and would benefit from some time outside of the main classroom. It is our aim to get all children outdoors enjoying our vast environment”
