Co-option Candidates Announced

Following the resignation of Sharon Jagger – Pye Green Ward – and Annette Walker – Anglesey Ward -Hednesford Town Council are seeking to fill the 2 Cllr vacancies by the co-option process. Following a 4 week application process we can today announce the 5 candidates who will be standing for co-option at the next full town council meeting on Wednesday 7th February 2024:

Jason Kolmer – Anglesey Ward Candidate

James Farmer – Pye Green Ward Candidate

Jacob Dyke – Pye Green Ward Candidate

Shirley Pearson – Anglesey Ward Candidate

Garry Samuels – Anglesey Ward Candidate

Each candidate will have the opportunity to address full council and present their reasons for standing as a town councillor for Hednesford Town Council together with the skills and experience they may bring with them to the role.

Full council will choose the candidate with the most suitable skills and experience and who is best suited for the role in a fair and consistent manner. Voting will be made by a clear majority. If 3 or more candidates stand for a ward then the person with the fewest votes shall be removed and the vote repeated until a majority is received. Voting will be carried out in line with the Standing Orders 2023.

Members of the public are invited to attend the full town council meeting on Wednesday 7th February 2024 at 7pm but shall not be able to vote.
